The Met x Eichholtz collaboration is the opulent Georges Jacob fabric armchair. Inspired by a small French sofa (circa 1785) made by master cabinetmaker Georges Jacob and currently in The Met’s collection, the sofa, with its cream upholstery and antique gold finish, combines classical art with modern luxury. It evokes the timeless elegance of late 18th-century French interiors, and Georges Jacob created many pieces for the French royal courts, including those of Louis XVI. It is sophisticated and durable, and also fits well with modern interiors.
