The Horus Table Lamp draws inspiration directly from the Meta-Grey statue of the god Horus protecting King Nectanebo II. Part of the Egyptian Art Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the statue, dating from 360–343 BC, speaks of the pharaoh’s deep connection to Horus, the falcon god of the kingdom. The strong, noble form of the original statue has been reproduced for the Horus Table Lamp, with a copper-bronze finish and a handmade linen-blend lampshade.
